It's been an absolute nightmare for Dak Prescott and company since the Dallas Cowboys clinched their spot in the playoffs. They have suffered two consecutive embarrassing losses, and their chances of winning the NFC East are dead in the water. In addition, Prescott's chances of being named MVP are dead and buried, and the team doesn't look good enough to make a deep playoff run. The team seems to be headed to disaster.
Dallas is 7-0 at home and 3-5 on the road. Based on how they play whether at home or on the road, it's a clear case of the Jekyll and Hyde personality. However, based on the issues regarding the defense and the offensive line, Dallas' home game this week is against Jared Goff, and the Detroit Lions justifiably put Dallas on upset alert.
The Lions just won the NFC North for the first time since 1993. Detroit has the potential of making a deep playoff run. Considering the Lions have not won a playoff game since 1991 and only have one playoff win since 1957, they have something big to prove, and this is their chance to do it. Perhaps an upset win over the Cowboys on the road will allow Detroit's stock to rise.
The Cowboys have not lost three straight since 2020. Going from 10-3 to 10-6 would be disastrous as it would result in a more considerable momentum kill than the last two weeks. At this point, Detroit has nothing to lose, considering they've clinched their division, meaning they're in the playoffs. While Dallas is in the playoffs already, everything is theirs to lose. In Dallas' case, failure to make it to at least the divisional round would result in a catastrophic failure of a season.
Dallas desperately needs the win, but Detroit is more than perfectly capable of emerging victorious.
