After a hard-fought 40-34 win at home against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Dallas Cowboys are in no position to take their foot off the gas pedal. That mistake proved very costly against Jacksonville and Dallas knows that with two games left before the playoffs, they have a lot of work to do. The final two games are on the road and while NFC East is still up for grabs for now, it's likely to be clinched by Philadelphia.
Right now, Dallas can only win the NFC East if they were to win their final two regular season games while Philadelphia were to lose theirs. But realistically, that's not going to happen. At this point, Dallas should concentrate of winning out their final two and be prepared for the playoffs.
It's been a long time since the Cowboys have had 10+ wins in back-to-back seasons. The last time Dallas achieved such an accomplishment was in 1995 and 1996. After that embarrassing loss to San Francisco in the wildcard last season, the Cowboys are looking to redeem themselves and make a deep run in the playoffs. They know they'll be under pressure but they understand that pressure comes with the territory when it comes to the playoffs.
Dallas faces Tennessee this week. The Titans are on a five-game losing streak and are coming off a home loss to the Houston Texans. Dallas can't take Tennessee lightly. They made that mistake against Jacksonville and the final result of that game and Dallas blowing a 27-10 lead tells the story. The playoffs are right around the corner and Dallas knows that the time for fun and games are over. They need to be serious and they need to win.
