The Carolina Panthers opened the 2023 NFL Draft by addressing their biggest need roster-wise, (quarterback) by drafting Alabama quarterback Bryce Young. Young in Carolina is going to be fun to see. It will be interesting to see how this new coaching regime does with developing a quarterback (Something the Matt Rhule coaching staff couldn’t accomplish).
Alabama QB Bryce Young
The Carolina Panthers used the first overall pick on Bryce Young. Young provides three main qualities. One Leadership for an offense that needs it, Two Stability for a position (QB) that has not had it since Cam Newton left the organization in 2019. Three excitement, this is a guy that the Panthers fanbase can rally around.
Young has a great coaching staff behind him (That’s what makes athletes great). Quarterbacks Coach Josh McCown being able to develop him, Offensive Coordinator Thomas Brown scheming the offense to Young’s strengths, and lastly, head coach Frank Reich being in charge the tides seem to be turning for the good (certainly a relief after the Matt Rhule area). Andy Dalton can also provide veteran mentorship for Young.
Bryce Young only stands at 5’10”, he can sling the rock, (in Carolina likely to DJ Chark, Adam Thielen, Hayden Hurst, Terrace Marshall Jr, etc…). Russell Willson (5’11”) and Kyler Murray (5’10”) are around the same height as Young. I would say both of them are having successful careers (ignore Russ being on a comedy known as the Denver Broncos).
(This is why Young went Number #1 overall)
Dear Bryce Young,
Mr. Young, welcome to Charlotte, North Carolina. The Carolina Panthers fanbase, front office, and coaching staff are happy to have you in North Carolina. Get ready to have Bojangles and Oreos brought to you, just like the Carolina GOATs (Greatest Of All Time) have before. The Fans are excited to see you in the Black and Blue this upcoming season.
