Last year, Real Madrid beat Barcelona for the Cup, while Barcelona secured the Cup in 2023. The final takes place on Sunday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Barcelona is looking to secure their 15th Supercopa de España title, which extends their record of having the most titles. Real Madrid has already won the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, and they would love to add at least one more title to this season's accomplishments. The Supercopa de España being settled in the traditional Spanish El Clásico makes the title match exciting and competitive.
Barcelona and Real Madrid already had one El Clásico match in October last year. The match resulted in a 4-0 win for Barcelona at Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid. Real Madrid has a chance of exacting some revenge and winning a title at their archrival's expense, which would suit them well. Barcelona would love to embarrass Real Madrid again and win a title.
Barcelona has been on a downward trend in La Liga competition. Real Madrid is on top of La Liga at the moment. Barcelona is proving to be a worthy title contender in the Champions League. At the same time, Real Madrid's defense has not gone well. At this point, Barcelona could be favored to win the UEFA Champions League, although Liverpool is looking to enter the UCL title picture as well.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are both loaded with talent; however, the advantage has to go to Barcelona. While Barcelona has to be favored over Real Madrid, the Supercopa de España is 100 percent up for grabs. In other words, Real Madrid is capable of getting the job done. It's anybody's game.
