In a thrilling display of resilience and drama, the Detroit Lions pulled off a miraculous win over the Houston Texans, stealing the victory in the game's final moments. Trailing with just seconds left on the clock, the Lions executed a near-perfect drive capped by a last-second, heart-stopping field goal that stunned the Texans and their fans. It was a game that seemed lost, but the Lions’ never-say-die attitude, combined with a dash of last-minute magic, delivered one of the most unforgettable finishes of the season.
Offense
Good lord, the offense was atrocious in this game. Jared Goff's MVP candidacy dropped significantly after this game, throwing for 240 yards, two touchdowns, and not one, not two, not three, but five interceptions. Goff's outing was miserable during that first half, and he did not get his groove going. Despite Goff's struggles, the Lions still remained in the game, with Sam LaPorta, Amon Ra and St Brown, and David Montgomery able to put points on the board. The real hero was kicker Jake Bates, who had nailed a 52-yard field goal at the end of the game to seal the victory. And if you are a Lions fan, my heart would've just stopped after the game-ending kick. Bates is the Lion's game-saver and the MVP of the game. A video went viral on social media where Lions fans were watching the game mid-flight, and the flight attendant went on the PA announcement, and everyone on the flight yelled at her to stop. I would be yelling, too, if my team was playing and needed a field goal to win and someone interrupted the TV. Bates has bailed the Lions out again to keep their winning streak alive.

Defense
The Lions' defense was the main reason why the Lions were able to stay in the game. Carlton Davis intercepted CJ Stroud twice, and James Houston had a crucial sack that resulted in a fumble recovery for the Lions. Stroud ran into his lineman in probably the most confusing fumble I've seen this season, but hey, it worked in the Lions' favor. Both defenses would not let up, and it was a matter of who would make the first crucial mistake in the game. Thankfully, the Lions' defense prevailed, preventing the Texans from scoring and allowing the game away from them. With the acquisition of defensive edge Zadarius Smith at the trade deadline, the Lions will now have more backup to fill the void left by the Aidan Hutchinson injury.

What's Next
The Lions can breathe a little easier with their next matchup being against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags have had one of the most disappointing falls from grace as it looked like this team was on the rise to be a contender in the AFC a couple of seasons ago, but instead, it went to being one of the worst teams in the NFL. Now, with QB Trevor Lawrence already being declared out for Sunday's game and Mac Jones to take the helm, the Lions have an even easier task ahead of them. Expect this game to be a blowout, and hopefully, Jared Goff can move past the Houston game and put up some good numbers.
