Set to play in prime time for the second consecutive week, the Green Bay Packers travel to Sin City to battle the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football. Knocked off by their fellow NFC North rival, the Detroit Lions, a week ago, Matt Lafleur's group fell behind 27-3 in the first half while struggling to slow down the Lion's potent ground attack.
Suddenly reeling after their 24-17 defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers last Sunday, the Raiders have lost three straight games following their week 1 victory over the Denver Broncos. With all eyes on Davante Adams, the All-Pro wide receiver will square off against his former team for the first time in his career. Here are four prop bets to target in this one.
Prop Bet #1: Jordan Love Over 1.5 Touchdown Passes (-110)
After being handed the keys to the Packers offense following the departure of Aaron Rodgers, Love jumped out to a hot start to begin his young career. The former first-round pick threw three touchdown passes in each of his first two games while compiling a passer rating of 118.8. Furthermore, after struggling against the Lions a week ago, the young quarterback should have his full complement of pass catchers back after Christian Watson was on limited snap count. Las Vegas's defense has struggled to keep opposing wide receivers out of the end zone this season. They have allowed multiple touchdown passes in three of four games, including two-plus each to Russell Wilson and Kenny Pickett.
Prop Bet #2: Romeo Doubs Over 3.5 Receptions (-160)
Quickly becoming the go-to guy for the Packer's passing attack in the absence of Watson, Doubs has become the favorite target for Love. The former fourth-round pick is Green Bay's highest-graded offensive player via Pro Football Focus. He leads the team in targets (33), catches (20), receiving yards (224), and touchdowns (3). Las Vegas has been able to limit opposing quarterbacks to begin the season. Focused on not giving up the big play, the team is allowing just 202 passing yards per game. However, they still give up more than 11 receptions each contest to opposing wide receivers. Watson's return will likely cut into the target share of Doubs. Nonetheless, look for Love to look his way enough times to cash this prop easily.
Prop Bet #3: Jimmy Garoppolo Under 239.5 Passing Yards (-110)
Back healthy after missing the Raider's week 4 matchup against the Chargers, Garoppolo has cleared the league's concussion protocol and will start for Las Vegas. Enjoying a shaky start to begin the season, the 31-year-old has passed for just 709 yards in three games, averaging just 11.1 yards per completion. Along with this, he has already tossed six interceptions in just 94 attempts. Set to square off against a strong Green Bay secondary, the Packers currently sit 10th in the NFL in passing yards surrendered per game (197.0). The team has yet to allow an opposing quarterback to eclipse more than 240 yards against them. Moreover, with star cornerback Jaire Alexander returning after missing the last two games with a back injury, expect Garoppolo to be limited through the air in this one.
Prop Bet #4: Davante Adams Anytime TD Scorer
After spending eight seasons with the Packers, Adams will square off against his former team for the first time. On pace for another strong season, the six-time Pro Bowler has caught 33 passes for 397 yards. Along with this, he remains an elite red zone threat. Out of all wide receivers with at least 20 targets, he trails only Garrett Wilson in red zone target share. This has led the California native to haul in three touchdown receptions on the year, tied for the fourth most in the league. Additionally, Green Bay has given up four receiving touchdowns this season, three of them to wideouts. While Adams will likely draw the coverage of Alexander, expect him to find the end zone once again in this one.
