Rabon’s 2024 Seattle Seahawks 53-Man Roster Projection

Training Camp and the Preseason are now finished, and hundreds of players around the league are anxiously waiting to see if they have proved themselves enough to secure a spot on their team's official 53-man roster.

With Week 3 of the preseason coming to an end, new Seahawks Head Coach Mike Macdonald will have to make some of his hardest choices of the entire season as he and his coaching staff trim the team's 90-man roster down to 53.

Seattle Seahawks Offense (25)

Quarterback (2): Geno Smith, Sam Howell

Outside Looking In: P.J. Walker

Howell has shown great flashes in his games with the Seattle Seahawks. Despite having a slightly rocky training camp, these good preseason performances and the team's investment in him via trade practically make him a lock for the QB2 spot in Seattle. After cuts are finalized, the team will likely look to add Walker to the team's practice squad.

Running Back (4): Kenneth Walker III, Zach Charbonnet, Kenny McIntosh, George Holani

Outside Looking In: Kobe Lewis, Kairee Robinson

The battle between McIntosh and Holani was intense throughout training camp and the preseason. That said, I think it was too close to call. With some initially filled roster spots opening up, I believe that both will eventually make the 53-man roster. I can see Lewis getting signed to the team's practice squad.

Wide Reciever (6): DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Jake Bobo, Laviska Shenault, Dareke Young

Outside Looking In: Dee Eskridge, Cody White, Easop Winston Jr., Hayden Hatten, Tyler Scott

The Seahawks' wide receiver room is one of the deepest in the league. This is not just because of the three names at the front but also because of the bottom three, who are huge playmakers when on the field despite having less name value.

Tight End (4): Noah Fant, Pharoah Brown, Brady Russell, AJ Barner

Outside Looking In: Tyler Mabry, Jack Westover, Devon Barrison, Michael Ezeike

There are not any surprises with these predictions and the TE position itself for the Seahawks. There was a recent scare with Brown's recent injury, but it has since been confirmed as not very serious.

Offensive Line (9): Charles Cross, Laken Tomlinson, Connor Williams, Anthony Bradford, George Fant, Christian Haynes, Olu Oluwatimi, Sataoa Laumea, Stone Forsythe.

Outside Looking In: McClendon Curtis, Michael Jerrell, Ilm Manning, Max Pircher, Jalen Sundell, Garret Greenfield

PUP: Abraham Lucas

With Lucas missing all of training camp and the preseason due to his recovery from knee surgery, it makes it more likely that Stone Forsythe, who has been receiving backup offensive tackle rep throughout camp, makes the final 53-man roster. This also points towards Curtis getting cut. Finally, rookie lineman Michael Jerrell is getting cut in this projection and added to the team's practice squad.

Seattle Seahawks Defense (25)

Interior Defensive Line and EDGE (6): Leonard Williams, Byron Murphy II, Jonathan Hawkins, Jarran Reed, Mike Morris, Miles Adams

Outside Looking In: Devere Levelston, Kyon Barrs, Mario Kendricks

PUP: Cameron Young

The main talking point about this position's projection is that it leaves the team without a backup nose tackle. Cameron Young will likely either be placed on the PUP List or the team will cut him. So, after cuts are made, the Seahawks will likely keep their eyes on the defensive lineman market.

Linebacker (5): Tyler Dodson, Jerome Baker, Tyrice Knight, Patrick O’Connell, Michael Barrett

Outside Looking In: Jon Rhattigan, Drake Thomas, Blake Lynch, Easton Gibbs

The only real toss-up for me with this position was between O’Connell and Rhattigan. The final decision was made based on who I believed showed better flashes in the preseason, which made me lean towards O’Connell.

Cornerbacks (6): Devon Witherspoon, Riq Woolen, Tre Brown, Artie Burns, Nehemiah Pritchett, D.J. James

Outside Looking In: Dee Williams, Carlton Johnson, Lance Boykin, Willie Roberts

Cutting Dee Williams after what was a great preseason was a tough decision. I would not be surprised to see the team stick with seven cornerbacks or place Williams on the practice squad.

Safeties (4): Rayshawn Jenkins, Julian Love, K’Von Wallace, Coby Bryant

Outside Looking In: Ty Okada, Marquise Blair

PUP: Jerrick Reed II

This position group was one of the easier ones to project. But I wouldn’t be surprised to se one or even both of Okada and Blair make the practice squad.

Seattle Seahawks Special Teams (3)

Punter (1): Michael Dickinson

Kicker (1): Jason Myers

Long Snapper (1): Chris Stoll

The three Special Teams specialist positions were all pretty set in stone before training camp and the preseason, making this a straightforward projection.
