Chicago White Sox looking to Trade Luis Robert Jr.

The Chicago White Sox are the worst team in Major League Baseball, with a 15-47 record. In order to improve, they will have to make some changes. One of those changes could be trading outfielder Luis Robert Jr., according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post. The White Sox are actively looking for trade offers for Robert.

Robert had been out for almost two months due to a right hip flexor strain. He returned to action on Tuesday. In nine games this season, he is hitting .216 with eight hits and five RBIs. Last year, Robert had the best year of his career, hitting .264 with 38 home runs and 80 RBIs. Now that he’s returned, Robert’s production will improve.

Robert is signed through 2025 with two team options at $20 million each with a $2 million buyout. So, where could Robert get traded to? Any team that needs help in the outfield is a possibility. The Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, and the Philadelphia Phillies are the teams that I think have the best chance of acquiring Robert. While the Dodgers have only one good outfielder right now and seem to be the favorites to land Robert, I think Robert will go to the Braves. The Braves really need help in the outfield after losing Ronald Acuna Jr. for the rest of the season due to a torn ACL. Robert would give the Braves a replacement for Acuna and help boost the Braves offense. Atlanta’s best hitters are struggling right now, and adding Robert can help end the struggling.

What would the White Sox get in return? The Braves would send some prospects to the White Sox in exchange for Robert. The prospects that the White Sox would get are pitcher Cade Kuehler, pitcher Hurston Waldrep, and shortstop Nacho Alvarez Jr. Kuehler is the Braves' No. 8 prospect and has a 3.09 ERA with the Augusta Greenjackets this season. Waldrep had a 2.92 ERA in Double-A and is currently in Triple-A. He could be the Braves top prospect very soon. Alvarez is the Braves' number six prospect. He is a solid hitter and defender.
