After losing Tyler Kolek to the NBA Draft (New York Knicks) this year, they seemingly have found a point guard for the future. According to Joe Tipton of On 3, 2025 4-star PG Nigel James has committed to the blue and gold of Marquette University and head coach Shaka Smart.
247 Sports has the Long Island Lutheran point guard as the 91st-ranked player in the 2025 class and the 15th-ranked point guard. James chose Marquette over Georgia Tech, Rutgers, Iowa, USC, and Big East Rivals in St. Johns, Creighton, and Providence.
This is from James on why he chose the Golden Eagles:
"I chose Marquette because of my relationship with the coaching staff and players," he said. "They genuinely care about my growth and when I had bad or tough games they were still there because they trusted me." James told Joe Tipton of On 3. "Their work in the past and how they have created a genuine relationship with me and my family. They treat me as if I’m already one of their players and they look out for me. They trusted me during my process and I will always trust them."
Welcome to Marquette and Milwaukee Nigel!
