Now, into the back half of this East Coast swing, we've gotten a nice break in the weather with no real threat of rain (up until the very end of the day) and temps in the mid-80s in New Jersey. Conveniently, things have really heated up in the 250 East Championship with just three rounds to go, and with the chance that the 450 Championship gets very interesting, should Chase Sexton make it wins in three of his last five. Big fight feel on WrestleMania weekend, and in the host venue for Summer Slam to say the least..
Daytime Program/Injury Notes:
- Nice to have some relatively good weather after the last couple of weeks.
- Chance Hymas had a bit of a scary moment with an unintentional ghost ride in qualifying, luckily he was ok and probably did the right thing in hindsight.
- I'm going to wait until the week between SX and MX to put out my silly season thoughts, but I cannot fathom the idea that Eli Tomac to Red Bull KTM is on the table, even if the Ducati is a bit behind schedule.
- 250 East Fastest Qualifier: No. 56 Seth Hammaker (51.521)
- 450 Fastest Qualifier: No. 32 Justin Cooper (51.442)
250 Class Recap
1st - No. 56 Seth Hammaker (Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki)
There was not a ton to talk about in either Main Event from yesterday, but Hammaker now having sole possession of the red plate after Detroit is a testament to how consistent he's been. A ninth at Foxborough isn't the end of the world compared to what happened to some others, and outside of those two rounds, it's been all 1sts-4ths for the Pennsylvania native. He's not out of the woods yet, but you have to love to be in the position Hammaker is in with two races left.
2nd - No. 1 Tom Vialle (Red Bull KTM)
It was definitely a tough weekend for Vialle. He couldn't capitalize on a solid fourth-place start and lost touch with the leaders fairly quickly. The two-whoops section was a sore spot compared to Hammaker. Now seven points back, Vialle is someone who is not unfamiliar with late-season heroics to win titles at the buzzer, but it's clear all the momentum he had going into the Foxborough Main Event evaporated that night.
7th - No. 83 Austin Forkner (Triumph Factory Racing)
Even taking away the fact that he coughed up a pair of spots on the penultimate lap, a few guys needed a solid outing just to get situated, like Austin Forkner. There's no other way to say it other than it's been rough in 2025, but this was the first time we've gotten something close to good from the veteran. Notably, he's better than the seventh he got earlier this year in Detroit, which, before this weekend, was his only top 10 finish.

450 Class Recap
1st and 2nd - No. 4 Chase Sexton (Red Bull KTM) and No. 2 Cooper Webb (Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha)
Might as well combine the top two this week again, but this was a career ride by Chase Sexton no matter how you slice it and no matter how things go from here. Webb losing as much time as he did in the whoops was jarring, and Sexton gave him zero room to breathe outside of a glimmer of hope early, and the KTM rider racked up a lead just south of 16 seconds with around 7:30 to go. Domination doesn't do it justice, and on a shorter track where Sexton ran 24 laps.
I can't believe I'm saying this, seeing as where we were in that stretch from Dallas to Indianapolis, but things can't be super relaxed in the Star Yamaha rig right now. Sexton, now with three wins in the last five rounds, has all the momentum in this title fight, and Webb desperately needs a shutdown round next weekend in Pittsburgh, because if not, I think the writing is on the wall here. Remember, Sexton will almost certainly win the title in the event of a tie, which feels like the most likely path to a second title for him.
DNF - No. 77 Jerry Robin
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention this, but we send out best wishes to fan favorite privateer Jerry Robin, who suffered a horrific crash in qualifying yesterday. He put out earlier today that he received spinal fusion surgery and is paralyzed from the belly button down. Simply devastating news in yet another year filled to the brim with major injuries. We'll link to any form of crowdfunding (likely via Road2Recovery or GoFundMe) for his recovery costs once that becomes available. Always appreciated when he broke out those custom city sport-themed bike and gear kits these last few years, especially as a privateer doing that on his own dime. Again, cannot stress how devastating this news is. I don't know if there's a fix to stop this avalanche of injuries, but years like 2023 and 2025 aren't good for the sport, full stop.
