With the second-ever running of WWE's Clash at the Castle, emanating from Glasgow, Scotland, just a day out from now, I put together my outright match predictions for this five-match card, which will undoubtedly set up plenty of stuff for next month's Money in the Bank show in Toronto. But as far as Scotland goes, here are my predictions for the must-see match card.
2024 WWE Clash at the Castle Card
World Heavyweight Championship - Damian Priest (c) vs. Drew McIntyre:
With this intense match, Drew McIntyre finally gets a title shot after losing the World Heavyweight Championship five minutes after his win at WrestleMania 40. This match will steal the show, considering McIntyre is fighting on home soil, not even an hour outside his hometown of Ayr. With fractures in the Judgement Day increasing daily and CM Punk lurking, this true heavyweight showdown can go in many different directions.
Winner: Damien Priest
WWE Women's Championship - Bayley (c) vs. Piper Niven:
Piper Niven, another one of Scotland's finest, born about 20 miles out from Glasgow, is getting the match of her career, and she finally looks to capture singles gold on home soil. This match should be a good one, with the inaugural and former two-time ICW Women's Champion presenting some challenges for the Role Model.
Winner: Bayley
WWE Championship - Cody Rhodes (c) vs. AJ Styles in an I Quit Match
This match will bring the house down as we see a rematch between two foes dating back to Backlash in France a few months ago. Styles pulled a Mark Henry retirement stunt, 1-for-1, on the WWE universe as he attacked Rhodes two weeks ago. With this match being an I Quit match, we will see these two men take each other to the limit and steal the show.
Winner: Cody Rhodes
Intercontinental Championship - Sami Zayn (c) vs. Chad Gable:
This rivalry stems back to before Wrestlemania 40 when Gable trained Sami to dethrone Gunther for the title. Since then, these two men have been attacking each other and playing mind games. With the Alpha Academy decaying due to Chad Gable's character, we can see the faction finally break up as we have longly awaited this moment.
Winner: Sami Zayn
WWE Women's Tag Team Championship - Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill (c) vs. Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark vs. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn:
I believe this match will be another squash match for the tag team champions.
Winner: Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill
